The triad is one of the most important building blocks of tonal music and therefore it should be internalized in many shapes. In this context we confine ourselves to the four basic types in root position:
- major
- minor
- augmented
- diminished
We apply them to the 4 colours major, minor, diminished, augmented.
Practice the straightforward inversion pattern and after that the "frog-leap" inversions.
NB: In this example key and key signature are omitted in order to illustrate that the placement of notes on the staff does not change regardless of key, key signature and accidentals.
Root position and inversions:

major
minor
diminished
augmented
The "frog-leap" variant:

major
minor
diminished
augmented
