For  the second semester we agreed upon two topics:

HARMONY:

  • (Late) romantic harmony (enharmonic-chromatic harmony)
  • "French" romantic harmony (modal influences with Fauré; extended and alternative chords with Ravel; new sonotiries with Debussy)
  • Essential aspects of jazz in the first half of the twentieth century.
  • Twentieth century harmony: global overview of principles based on Vincent Persichetti.
